Ivan A. Lenz, 69, of Lone Tree, passed away at Mercy Iowa City on Friday, July 15, 2016. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, at the United Presbyterian Church of Lone Tree. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Following committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the United Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree.
A memorial has been established at the funeral home in memory of Ivan.

Ivan Alfred Lenz was born Feb. 28, 1947, in Iowa City, the son of Albert and Jessie (Mills) Lenz. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Hora on Nov. 11, 1967, in Lone Tree. Ivan was a 1966 graduate of Lone Tree High School. He was a 20-year veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, the U.S. Navy and the Army National Guard.
Ivan worked for the University of Iowa Power Plant as an equipment operator, retiring in 2009.
He was a member of the Lone Tree American Legion. He enjoyed traveling, reading, doing word searches, camping, listening to bluegrass music and gaming.
His greatest love was the time he spent with his grandsons, Grant and Seth.
Ivan will be deeply missed by his wife, Marilyn Lenz of Lone Tree; son, William Lenz and wife Mary of Lone Tree; and two grandsons, Grant and Seth Lenz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tommy Joe Lenz; and one brother, Ronald Lenz.
