Ivan L. Christopherson, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at his home in Cedar Rapids surrounded by loved ones.
Ivan was born July 4, 1942, to William and Cora Christopherson, and grew up in the Highlandville area. He moved to Cedar Rapids in 1960 and was united in marriage to Sandra Novak on Sept. 28, 1963. Ivan worked for Weyerhauser for 46 years. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus 5677.
He is survived by his son, Tim (Patti) Christopherson; two grandsons, Tye (Nola) Jones and Jacob Jones; four great-grandchildren, all of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six sisters, Mary Sanderson of Luck, Wis., Crystal Thayer of Sarasota, Fla., Thelma (Charlie) Brown of Sun City, Ariz., Ruth (Jim) Wilson of Swisher, Grace (Ken) Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Arlene (Ron) Vavroch of Cape Coral, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and girlfriend, Linda Petersen of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandra; six brothers, Carmen, Jerome, Wallace, Robert, Raymond and Frances Christopherson; and two sisters, Esther Stevenson and Betty Hansel.
A Celebration of Life will be held for all family and friends on Saturday, June 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Knights of Columbus No. 5677, located at 810 Vernon Valley Dr., Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
