Iva E. (Reighard) Burkett, age 86, of Wellman died Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at the Parkview Care Center in Wellman.
Iva Eileen Reighard was born April 11, 1936, in Jefferson County, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Blanche (Statler) Reighard. She married Ronald Jay Burkett on April 8, 1963, in Coralville. She stayed home and raised her family, had worked as a home health aide, and had been a cook at the Radisson Hotel and Iowa City City High School. Iva was a member of many bowling leagues in the area for many years, she liked the game of pool, enjoyed her gardens and going to garage sales, but most important to her was her family, especially as the grandchildren and most recent her great-granddaughter were born. Nothing filled her heart with more joy than her family!
Her family includes her son, Kirk Burkett; grandchildren, Tyler and Skyler; great-granddaughter, (her favorite) Zoey; stepgrandchildren, Carman, Tammy, Lee, Eric, Heather, Lano, Kim, Rita and Jayson; two brothers, Wayne Reighard (Sally) and Roger Reighard (Virginia); numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Allen, Gailen and Carroll, and one sister, Joyce.
