Isabel Richardson, 94, of Iowa Falls, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Scenic Manor Care Facility in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Linn Grove Presbyterian Church, north of Mount Vernon, where a visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until service time. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Larry, and wife, Kathy, of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; twin daughters, Linda Moore of Appleton, Wis., and Lana Hartl and husband, Dave, of Iowa Falls; and a brother, Maurice Minor, and twin sister, Edith Lyon, both of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, four stepgreat-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clair; her parents; sisters, Irene and Lois; and a brother, Glenn.
Isabel was born May 17, 1923, the daughter of Taylor and Ella Minor, in rural Linn County. She graduated from Martelle High School in 1941 and attended cosmetology school in Cedar Rapids. She worked as a beautician for a number of years. She married Clair Richardson on Sept. 10, 1943, at Linn Grove Presbyterian Church, north of Mount Vernon. Together, they farmed and took over management of Linn Mutual Insurance Agency in Mount Vernon in 1964 until retirement in 1987. She was a member of Linn Grove Presbyterian Church, Ladies Aid Society and New Century Club, and volunteered for years at St. Luke's Hospital. In 2006, she moved to Scenic Living Communities in Iowa Falls. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and being with her grandchildren.
