Irma E. Gay, 80, of Robins, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, after declining in health. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the
Cedar Memorial Park
Chapel of Memories, officiated by Pastor Chopper Brown and Dale Holloway. Burial will take place at Jordan's Grove Cemetery in Central City, following a reception. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Irma Edythe Gay was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Washington, Iowa, to Merle and Clyo (Haskins) White. She was united in marriage to Marvin Von Gay on Oct. 19, 1952, on her aunt's homestead in rural Washington County. She was previously employed by Rockwell Collins and Younkers, Irma was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was a member of Living Hope Wesleyan Church in Cedar Rapids. She was previously a member of the Troy Mills Garden Club and the Robins Women's Club.
Irma loved going to garage sales, knitting and crafting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She was
passionate about spreading the Gospel and honoring the Lord.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon R. Geneske (Randy) of Lisbon and Debra J. Brenneman (Dave) of Central City; seven grandchildren, Nichole Roos (Jim), Matthew DeMuth, Rachel Keys (Nathan), Dawniell Balderston (Aaron), Dannette Tribble (Dave), Bryce Brenneman and Casandra Brenneman; four stepgrandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant brother, Merle White Jr.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Irma's name.

Irma's family would like to extend their gratitude and love to Aunt Shirley and Diana, who both cared for Irma, giving her love, laughter and great food for the last two years. They would also like to thank the staff at St. Luke's Hospice for their compassion and care.
