Irma L. Bentrott, 97, departed this earthly life trusting in Jesus as her Savior to enter her eternal home in heaven on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden at 9 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Daniel Redhage. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Irma was born in rural Lowden on Jan. 1, 1919, the only child of Paul and Pauline (Kahl) Mensing. On Dec. 6, 1940, she married Merle F. Bentrott. They were blessed to enjoy 72 years together before Merle's death on Jan. 14, 2013.
Surviving are a son, Jerry (Tammy) Bentrott of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Judith (David) Dissen of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; four grandchildren, Christopher (Michelle) Fleming, Michael (Courtney) Bentrott, Daniel Bentrott and Rain Bentrott, all of Colorado; and a sister-in-law, Joyce (Colby) Withers of Readlyn.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the charity of choice by the donor.
