Irene Elizabeth Boesenberg Siems peacefully passed at Hallmar Residential Care at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As per Irene's wishes, her body will be cremated, and in keeping with current covid protocol, no services or visitations will be held at this time.
Irene was born in Williamsburg, Iowa, on May 29, 1925, the daughter of Arthur Otto and Alice (Collingwood) Mumm. She was the fourth generation raised on the Mumm family farm, which was designated a country farm in 1976.
Irene is survived by three of her children, Barbara (Larry) Peden of Cedar Rapids, Wayne (Gail) Boesenberg of Cedar Rapids and Gary (Jane) Boesenberg of Cedar Rapids; five stepchildren, Robert (Jeanee) Siems of North Liberty, Sandra Beltz of Solon, Wayne (Diane) Siems of Oxford, Karen Fults of Coralville and Kathy Siems of Coralville; innumerable grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; her in-laws from her first marriage including Clarence Boesenberg of Cedar Rapids and Lyle (Joyce) Boesenberg of Cedar Rapids; and brothers-in-law, Don (Barb) Boesenberg of Cedar Rapids and Paul (Dorothy) Boesenberg of Mechanicsville.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Noel E. Siems; her first husband, Henry William Boesenberg; her daughter, Bernice Olson; siblings, Dwight Mumm, Florence Cronbaugh and Marcella Martinson; sister-in-law, Ruby (Clarence) Boesenberg.
The family would like to thank the Hallmar and Hospice of Mercy's staff for their wonderful care of Irene.
