Irene W. Decker, 95, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, in the Clarence Nursing Home. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, with the Rev. David Mear officiating. Burial: Clarence Cemetery. Friens may call from 9 a.m. until services Friday at the church.
Survivors include her son, Edwin (Karilyn) Decker of Clarence; daughter, Phyllis (Robert) Hunwardsen of Clarence; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Ibsen of Clarence; brother, Harry Meyer of Clarence; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Albert and Lloyd.
Irene was born Jan. 18, 1919 in Cedar County, Iowa, to Henry and Marie Edler Meyer. She married Edwin Decker on March 23, 1940, at St. John's Parsonage in Clarence. He died in 2010.
Irene loved her kitchen, garden, sewing and family. She was a member of St. John's UCC and a former member of the women's fellowship, lend-a-hand circle and former 4-H leader.
