Irene Bruce, 68, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at her home. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion, conducted by the Rev. Jerry W. Doellinger. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Irene is survived by her husband, Gary; children, Brandy (Chris) Panosh and Brooke Bruce; grandchildren, Zachary and Brianna Panosh; and sister, Gayle (Bob) Larson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ardith and Carolee.
Irene was born March 23, 1948, in West Union, Iowa, the daughter of Arlo and Fern (Appelman) Homewood. She graduated from North Fayette High School. Irene was employed at Rockwell Collins for 35 years. She enjoyed crafts, dolls and cooking. Irene spent most of her retirement spoiling and babysitting her grandchildren.
