Irene M. Bramer, 95, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Visitation: 10 a.m.to noon Friday, Oct. 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Services: noon Friday, Oct. 7, at
the funeral home. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Donna Simmons; son, Russell (Susan Swanson) Bramer; grandchildren, Christopher Simmons, Brad Bramer and Jamie (fiance Eddie Urtiaga) Bramer; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Colton and Caleb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Bramer; and brother, Clifford Tefer.
Irene was born March 24, 1921, in rural Prairieburg, the daughter of Antone and Christina (Lawrence) Tefer. On June 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Harold Louis Bramer in Cedar Rapids. Irene worked at J.S. Cook and Kiecks. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Irene enjoyed her flowers and watching birds. She loved going to casinos with Madelyn Olson. Irene also enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Irene's memory.
