Ira W. Way, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial
services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta; sons, James (Schary) and Ric (Marcia); a daughter, Kathleen (Mathew) Mathai; a sister, Mary Allemang; a brother, Robert; and two grandchildren, Michael and Alec Way.
Ira was born July 16, 1933, in Des Moines, the son of Charles and Marie Kimes Way. He attended Valley High School and Drake University. He married Loretta on Sept. 12, 1954, in Des Moines.
Ira was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Masons and served in the Air Force. He worked in the broadcasting and advertising industry for his entire career, retiring in 1986.
Ira enjoyed golf, woodworking and time spent with his beloved family.
Memorial donations may be given to First Lutheran Church.
