Igram, Yusef Ahmed
Yusef Ahmed Igram, 55, of Cedar Rapids, lost his courageous battle with cancer at his home, Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Services: 1 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by Imam Nabhan.
Survivors include his wife, Samira; sons, Yusef, Nezaar and Kareem, all at home; mother, Aziza Igram of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Fatima Smejkal and Lila Thompson, both of Cedar Rapids; brother, Hassan (Gayle) Igram of Reno, Nev.; mother-in-law, Haja Fatna Hilal of Morocco; brother-in-law, Chafik (Valerie) Hilal of France; sisters-in-law, Najat (Abdulraheem) Danoun, Baheja (Abdulraheem) Gl Faik and Nouffissa (Mohammad) Bajgar, all of Morocco; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Yusef was born Dec. 17, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, to Abdallah and Aziza Igram. He was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, graduating from Kennedy High School. He owned Premier Transportation. Yusef was a member of the Islamic Center in Cedar Rapids.
Yusef endeared himself to all he met on his path through life and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cedar Rapids Islamic Center toward an education fund for his children.
