Ida Carnell, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. Per Ida's wishes there will be no services. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Ida is survived by her children, Tina (Tony) Sykora of Cedar Rapids and Jay (Patricia) Carnell of Valrico, Fla.; five grandchildren, Mike (Falin) Sykora, Jayleen (Colin) Connor, Nicole (Josh) Mather, Lucas Carnell and Clint Carnell; and five great-grandchildren, Toni Sykora, Iaian Sykora, Chase Connor, Kierstyn Mather and Jesslyn Sykora.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James, in 2012; daughter, Sandra Carnell; and siblings, Ellen Novak and Emma Hesse, Earl, Edward, Albert and Ben McDonough.
Ida was born March 29, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Minnie McDonough. She married James Carnell on April 16, 1950. Ida worked for Quaker Oats, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Eagles Club and Sharon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed assigning interior design projects. If it was me!!!
