Hutchinson, Richard Dean
GREELEY - Richard Dean Hutchinson, 72, of Greeley, died at his residence on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Greeley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ruth Tibbott officiating. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood and one hour before services Wednesday at the church. Interment, with military rites by Charles Waters American Legion Post 566: Elk Valley Cemetery, rural Greeley.
He was born June 15, 1938, in Manchester, the son of Raymond and Elsie (Robinson) Hutchinson. He attended school at Manchester. Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. He was united in marriage to Georgia Smith on Aug. 13, 1962, in Iowa City. Three children were born to this union.
Together they lived in Manchester, Greeley, and Woodcenter. For the past 24 years they lived in rural Greeley. Richard worked in construction until he retired at the age of 62.
He was a member of Labor Local 43. Richard enjoyed visiting, gardening and especially spending time with his family. He also liked to fish, hunt, and search for mushrooms.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Hutchinson of Greeley; three children, Richard (Lori) Hutchinson Jr. of Strawberry Point, Teresa Hutchinson of Greeley, and James (fiancee Jamie Jones) of Greeley; two stepchildren, Duane (Tonya) Millard of Edgewood and Donald (Cheryl) Millard of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Robert (Mary) Hutchinson of Manchester.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; an infant twin brother; three brothers, Harold Sr., James, and Leo; and three sisters, Della Lenter, Betty Fierstine, and Irene Cornwell.
