Husmann, Pauline
Pauline Husmann, 92, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at the Anamosa Care Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home. The Rev. Ellery Dykeman will officiate at the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wayne Zion Lutheran Church or Above and Beyond Hospice.
Surviving is a son, Nile (Judy) Husmann, Center Junction; three grandsons, Lance (Sharon), Kolin and Bryan; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nelda Mead, Center Junction and Evelyn Paulsen, Monticello; and two brothers, Leland (Donna) Schoon, Marion and Neil (Pat) Schoon, Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle on Sept. 29, 1996; a granddaughter in law, Pam; four sisters; and three brothers.
Pauline Schoon was born Jan. 25, 1921, in Jackson Township, Jones County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Laurence and Lizzie Ricklefs Schoon. Pauline was a graduate of the Anamosa Community Schools.
Pauline Schoon and Merle Husmann were married on April 19, 1941, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. The couple lived in Cedar Rapids until October 1942 when they moved to a farm near Center Junction. They operated Center Junction Soil Service from 1947 until retirement in 1977.
She was a member of the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church where she was baptized. She confirmed her faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa.
Pauline enjoyed quilting at Wayne Zion and going fishing and dancing with Merle.
