Huntington, Lisa Renae (Enneking)
Lisa Renae (Enneking) Huntington, 43, of Marion, died Sunday, April 18, 2010, in her home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with breast cancer. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, where a parish vigil will begin at 6:30 p.m. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her husband, John; two children, Mitchell and Haley; her parents, Ken and Pat Enneking of Marion; two brothers, Craig (Leigh) Enneking of Marion and Eric (Joy) Enneking of Houston, Texas; in-laws, John L. (Mary) Huntington of Anamosa; sister-in-law, Julie Meyer of Cedar Rapids; and nieces and nephews, Megan, Kyle, Jessi, Alyssa and Allison.
Lisa was born April 20, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ken and Pat (Gearhart) Enneking. She graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1984, then from the Dental Assistant program at Kirkwood Community College. On May 14, 1994, Lisa was united in marriage to John Huntington in Cedar Rapids. She worked at Cedar Rapids Oral Surgery for 13 years. Lisa was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion.
Lisa was an active and loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, aunt and godmother. She set a courageous example for hundreds in her struggle with cancer. Lisa touched many lives with her infectious smile and her wonderful sense of humor – which is how she lived her life.
Lisa was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Lisa's family would like to thank Hospice of Mercy and Oncology Associates for their kind care and assistance.
Memorials will be used to establish college funds for her children or may be given in Lisa's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
