Hunter, Steven
Steven Hunter, 62, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a brief illness. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 20, at the Wyoming Cemetery. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, is caring for the family.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Michael) Rennhack, Coloma, Mich., and Kari (Matt) Miller, Hudson; six siblings, Dean (Sue) Hunter, Marion, Marvin (Kim) Hunter, Martelle, Carol (Lloyd) Lorenzen, Center Junction, Ed Hunter, Waldorf, Minn., Karen Picray, Monticello, and Sharon (Mike) Boner, West Chester.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary and Galen; and his grandparents, Elmer and Hazel Storm.
Steven Hunter was born Oct. 18, 1950, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Mary Louise Storm Hunter. He was raised by his grandparents, Elmer and Hazel Storm in Wyoming, Iowa. Steven graduated from Midland Schools in 1969. He then enlisted in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Steven married Marilyn Bruce on June 21, 1975, in Cedar Rapids. He was employed by Mid-Continent Bottlers, Morgan and Meredith Printing and Amana Refrigeration. The couple divorced in 1998.
