Hunt, Reida I.
Reida I. Hunt, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 27, 2013, at her home. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial: Sisley Grove Cemetery, rural Cedar Rapids.
Reida is survived by eight children, Harold Hunt Jr. and wife Denise and James Hunt, both of Cedar Rapids, William Hunt and wife Donna, Marshalltown, Michael Hunt and wife Sheri, Cedar Rapids, April Long and husband Kim, Marengo, Kevin Hunt and wife Annette and Jeffery Hunt and wife Christine, both of Marion, and Rebecca Erlacher and husband James, Cedar Rapids; a sister, Viola Patten, Cedar Rapids; 42 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Sr.; her parents, William and Daisy (Fite) Petty; two sisters and two brothers.
Reida was born Nov. 12, 1938, in Alba, N.Y., and moved to Cedar Rapids with her husband and family from Batavia, N.Y., in 1971. She married Harold H. Hunt Sr. on Sept. 10, 1955, in Batavia, N.Y., and he died Nov. 13, 1997.
Reida loved her grandchildren and enjoyed having visitors. She was a Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed her iPad and the Linn County Canines.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Cedar Rapids and Linn County Canine Division.
