Hughes, Ramona Rae
Ramona Rae Hughes, 51, of 703 F Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy from breast cancer. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at The First Federated Church, 115 N. Walnut St., Lisbon, by Dr. James A. Roberts. Friends may visit the family after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Ramona is survived by three sons, Corbin (Chastity) Bergman of Grundy Center, and Austin and Dalton Hughes, both of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Jackson and Aleasia Bergman; father, Larry (Betsy) Ruiter of Cherokee Village, Ark.; two stepsisters, Renee Phillips of Cedar Rapids, and Brenda Barkdoll of Vinton; six brothers Luke, Matt, Mark and Tim Quinn and Randy Ruiter of Newton and Rodney Ruiter of Germany; and her special family, Jake, Wava and Stacy Hemmen, all of Grundy Center.
Ramona was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Smith and Elizabeth and John Quinn.
Ramona was born August 3, 1959, in Marshalltown. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and had worked for several years in the Claims Department of CRST. Ramona will be remembered as the greatest mother ever.
