Hugh Lekin Jr., 69, of Cedar Rapids, passed away June 17, 2021, following a short illness. Memorial service: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Springville American Legion. Friends and family may call at 11 a.m. There will be a celebration of life at Sally's on Broadway in Springville, immediately following the service.
Hugh is survived by his daughter, Samantha Lekin of Cedar Rapids; brother, Bruce Lekin (Deb) of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Joyce and Brenda; and stepfather, Manny Moon, all of California.
He is being met in Heaven by his wife, Linda Lekin; and parents, Rose Moon and Hughie Lekin Sr.
Hugh was a proud veteran, having served with the Navy as a corpsman and surgical technician for six years. He loved life, family and friends, rock and roll, playing the spoons, fishing, the spiciest foods and traveling to Branson.
Hugh spent many years as Springville's pizza man, owning and running Paul Revere's Pizza. He later retired from Advance Auto Parts in Marion.
Hugh was a happy and kind man, full of quick-witted jokes. He will be missed by many.
Memorials may be made to Hugh's daughter, Samantha, to help with his final expenses.
