Huggins, Carolyn 'Sue'
Carolyn “Sue” Huggins, 56, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at North Prairie Cemetery in West Liberty. Memorials may be made to Iowa Hospice. Online condolences may be made to the family at .
Sue was born May 20, 1956, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Stephen and Jane Jackson Huggins. She graduated from West Liberty High School in 1974. She was employed with Billion Auto, formerly Old Capital Motors and Hargrave Motors, for over 30 years.
Sue's hobbies included scrapbooking and card-making. She was also an animal lover, especially dogs.
She is survived by her mother, Jane Huggins of West Liberty; brothers, William “Butch” (Katrina) Huggins of Iowa City, Robert Huggins of West Liberty, Tom (Kelly) Huggins of Nichols, and Pat Huggins of West Liberty; sister, Nancy (Vernon) Jackson of Rock Falls, Ill.; nephews, Tony Ball and Adam Huggins, both of Iowa City; and nieces, Brandi (Spencer) Haines of Iowa City, and Debbie (Kevin) Wells of Wilton. Sue is also survived by her beloved dog, Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Huggins; brother, Michael Huggins; and uncles, Bob Jackson and Donald Jackson.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Sue's dear friends, Virgil Pollard, Cindy Mays, and Luann and Bill Hoffman, as well as the staff at Iowa Hospice.
