Huff, Merlin Cecil
Merlin Cecil Huff, 81, of Winchester, Va., died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at his home. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Va. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends before the service from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Huff was born in 1929 in New Columbia, Pa., the son of the late Benjamin and Ethel Huff. He was vice president of engineering for Lear/Automotive Industries until his retirement in 1992. Also, he served in the U.S. Army. He married Carol Roose Huff on Nov. 28, 1964, in Michigan.
Surviving, with his wife, are five daughters, Donna Young and her husband, Rod, of North Liberty, Iowa, Jan Ricketts and her husband, Carlton, of Winchester, Va., Kim Powers and her husband, Mike, of Dover, Pa., Mary Nielsen and her husband, Brent, of Winchester, Va., and Jen Scannell and her husband, Dan, of Burlington, Mass.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his faithful companions, his dog, Chrissy, and cat, E.T.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Pauline Hastings; and two brothers, Harold Huff and William Huff.
