Huedepohl, Joyce Ann
Joyce Ann Huedepohl died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Mercy Iowa City following a sudden illness at the age of 78 years. Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. Pastor Gary Sears will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
Joyce was born Aug. 27, 1933, near Conroy, Iowa, the daughter of Allan C. and Anna R. (Furler) Stanerson. She graduated from Hilton Consolidated School in Conroy. On July 16, 1952, she married Wilbert Arthur Huedepohl at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. She worked at the Conroy ASA office, Burg Insurance, and as a hostess at Colony Haus and waitress and hostess at Ox Yoke Inn.
Joyce was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy, the Altar Guild at Trinity and the Red Hat Society. She was a piano teacher for many years and a Mary Kay consultant.
She was a gifted artist and enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, spending time with her family and attending and supporting the events of her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her children: Rick (Joan) Huedepohl of Edgerton, Wis., David (Cheryl) Huedepohl of Parnell, Cynthia (Mark) Sevcik of Cedar Rapids and Phillip (Misti) of Swisher; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Neal Stanerson of Conroy; two sisters, Carol Coffin of Jacksonville, Fla., and Donna (Dennis) Moffatt of Windfield, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Myrle Stanerson of Williamsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2005; a brother, Victor Stanerson in 1978; a sister-in-law, Betty Stanerson; and a brother-in-law, David Coffin.
A memorial fund has been established for Trinity Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Interparish School.
