Hubler, Ruth Mae
Funeral services for Ruth Mae Hubler, 88, formerly of Martelle, who died Monday, May 7, 2012, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. There will be a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
A general memorial fund has been established in memory of Ruth.

Ruth was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Olin, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Mabel Cook Amend. She graduated from Wyoming High School. Following high school, she worked at Collins Radio during World War II. On April 7, 1943, Ruth was united in marriage to Willard Nelson Hubler. She was a homemaker and was employed in the maintenance department at Cornell College from 1973 to 1988.
Ruth enjoyed reading, baking, flowers, sewing, canning and her children's activities.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Diane (Ray) Kasal of Chelsea, and Janet Hubler of Martelle; sons, Lee N. (Karen) Hubler of Springfield, Mo., Steve Hubler of Anamosa, and Robert (Judy) Hubler of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marian Volle of Tipton, and Helen Wood of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and brother, Robert Amend of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard on Sept. 18, 1984; and grandson, Brent Hubler.
