Hruska, Mary M.

Mary M. Hruska, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 6, at St Ludmila Catholic Church. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Friends may also call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her children, Sharon Wendt and Susan (Jim) Teahen, both of Marion, Joe Hruska and Jeff (Kendal) Hruska, both of Cedar Rapids; brother, Dick (Dawn) Novak; seven grandchildren, Wendi (Shannon) Falb, Kristi (Dan) Steichen, J.J. (Jennifer) Wendt, James (Jacqueline) Teahen, Melissa (Michael) Frederick, Megan Teahen and Sydney Hruska; and three great-grandchildren, Henry and Adeline Teahen and Jericho Wendt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward J. Hruska; siblings, Frank Novak and Rose Barber; and son-in-law, Barry Wendt.

Mary was born Sept. 29, 1926, daughter of Mike C. and Marie (Setlik) Novak. On Sept. 27, 1945, she married Edward J. Hruska at St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Mary was a member of St Ludmila Catholic Church, St. Monica's Circle and the Elks Club. She enjoyed her family, cooking and watching Kirkwood women's basketball.

Memorials may be directed to St. Ludmila's building fund or Kirkwood women's basketball.
