Hruby, Ron 'Sarge'
Ron “Sarge” Hruby, 50, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 4, 2011. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mike Hruby. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Lois Hruby; two brothers, Mike (Dawn) Hruby of Mission, Kan., and Denny (Linda) Hruby of Solon; nephew, Robbie Hruby; and niece, Elizabeth (Eric) York; and a special friend, Michelle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry.
Ron was born May 30, 1961, the son of Jerry and Lois (Stodola) Hruby in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He served in the Iowa National Guard. Ron started as a mechanic for OMS in the National Guard and then went to work for AutoZone in 1999. He enjoyed the company of many friends and will be missed by his family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Ron.
