Howrey, Colin R.
Colin R. Howrey, 57, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 17, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Robin; daughter, Cinna (Beau) Lewis; mother, Kathryn Howrey; mother-in-law, Caroline Smith; friend, Amanda Ackerman; siblings, Lonnie (Garland) Alff, MaryAnn (Denny) Donels, Bill (Vicki) Howrey; many nephews and nieces he loved dearly; and his beloved cat, Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Howrey; brother, Robert Howrey; sister, Nancy Jones; and nephew, Shawn Jones.
Colin was born April 5, 1954, in Anamosa, to Clyde and Kathryn Howrey. He married Robin Smith on Feb. 24, 1978, in Edwardsville, Ill. Colin was employed by Roger Johnson Properties. Colin enjoyed spending time with his family and working outdoors. He had an awesome sense of humor and will be terribly missed.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
