Howell, Marian Regina 'Jean' (Wall)
Marian Regina “Jean” (Wall) Howell, 91, of Oaknoll Retirement Residence, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at St. Mary's Church, with Father John Spiegel officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at St. Bridget Cemetery.
Jean attended Mount Mercy and Irish Business colleges. In 1944, she moved to Denver, Colo. She was an executive secretary in the utility business for 25 years. In 1969, she married Walter Wilson Howell. She and Walter enjoyed the Denver Broncos and C.U. Buffaloes.
She was an avid golfer, bowler, volunteer and gardener.
Jean is survived by her brother, John (Mary Ellen) Wall of Iowa City; sister, Mary Sheda of Denver, Colo.; three stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; her brother, Laurence J. Wall; and her sister, Laurena M. Lehman.
