HOWARD EUGENE HOOTMAN

Howard Eugene Hootman, 59, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, in St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at noon. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Jacqueline Hootman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his children, Eugene M. Hootman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tameira (Thomas) Taylor of Snow Hill, N.C., Jennifer Hootman of Phoenix, Ariz., Jerimiah H. (Roselie) Hootman of the Philippines, and Joshua (Machalla) Hootman of Snow Hill, N.C.; his brother, Richard Hootman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Marlene Hootman; and a brother, Gary Hootman.
Howard was born March 1, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Gary and Jacqueline (Dannels) Hootman. He married Marlene Hootman in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Howard was employed at CCB up until he could not work any longer. He was an excellent chess player. He enjoyed bowling and playing pinochle with his family. He was a faithful husband and loved his children and family very much. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
