Hovey, Todd C.
Todd C. Hovey, 48, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Bettendorf, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Bettendorf Presbyterian Church, 1200 Middle Rd., Bettendorf. Burial: Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, is assisting the family.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children. Todd was born Sept. 29, 1965, in Moline, Ill., a son of Ronald and Joan Woods Hovey. He graduated from Bettendorf High School and received his bachelor's and MBA degrees from the University of Iowa. Todd was a systems analyst at Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids.
He enjoyed outdoor activities, including camping and bicycling and participated in RAGBRAI. Todd also enjoyed traveling and was an avid Hawkeye fan, but his greatest love was spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his love, Shelley Cahalan, Cedar Rapids; children, Lauren and Erik Hovey, Cedar Rapids; stepchildren, Katie (Matt) McSweeney, Kelsey Cahalan and Courtney Cahalan, all of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Joan Hovey, Bettendorf; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Scott Lammers, Bettendorf; brother and sister-in-law, Troy and Sandy Hovey, Bettendorf; and nieces and nephews, Jacob, Luke and Emma Hovey and Sarah and Ashley Lammers, all of Bettendorf.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald.
