Houston, Geraldine Blanche

Geraldine Blanche Houston, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, following a brief illness. A memorial in celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Geri is survived by her four children, Deb (Brad) Novak of Marion, Cindi (Craig) Hazel of Seattle, Wash., James (Laura) Houston Jr. of Plano, Texas, and Karen (John) Randall of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and a sister.

Geri was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Geri was born April 17, 1937, in Chicago. Before retiring, she had most recently been employed with J.E. Adams Industries and then Walmart. Geri enjoyed ceramics, being with her friends in the Red Hat Society and playing bingo. The time that she treasured most was the time she was able to spend with her family. She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
