House, Virginia 'Ginny' Lou
Virginia “Ginny” Lou House, 78, of Dubuque, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Ennoble Manor. Private memorial services for family will be held at a later date. Private burial will be in West Union Cemetery, West Union, Iowa. Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, Dubuque, is assisting the family.
Ginny was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Clermont, Iowa. She married Ralph L. House on Oct. 8, 1955, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 2010.
After her husband's retirement, Ginny and Ralph wintered in Port Isabelle, Texas, for 15 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kristine (Mark) Kothenbeutel of Cedar Rapids, Michael House of Dubuque, Jeff House of Cedar Rapids, and Mark (Teresa) House of Kenosha, Wis.; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Larry) Curtis, Jaclyn, Andrew, Tyler (Keiko) Hlavac, Timothy (Dorian) and Tanner; one great-grandchild on the way; her sister, Vinah “Jackie” Shipton of Clermont; two sisters-in-law, Khaki Nelson of Clermont and Sara (Don) Moe of Cedar Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, William, Almer Leo and Mick; a sister in infancy, Winifred; and a brother-in-law, Donald House.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Virgina “Ginny” House Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and CNAs at Ennoble Manor Care Center for their care of Ginny.
