Hostak, Margaret Benedicta
Margaret Benedicta Hostak, 94, went to her eternal home on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, where a rosary begins at 6 p.m.
Margaret is survived by two sons and one daughter, Lary (Barb), Marion, Paul (Linda), Cedar Rapids, and Nancy (Alan) Rowe, Marion; 12 grandchildren, Lary Jr., Michelle, Jeff, Jennifer, Jill, Tim, Allyn, Jason, Dawn, Dalin, Deena and Nick; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; daughter, Nadine McEnany; a son who died at birth; her mother and father, Anna and Joseph; four brothers and five sisters.
Margaret was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Linn County, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Holub. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters and Eagles Women's Auxiliary. Margaret's life was one of faith, hope and love. Her faith, her family, her friends and all of humanity - that was her life.
Memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank both Linn Manor Care Center and Hospice of Mercy for the wonderful care they gave Margaret.
