Hosch, Kathleen A. 'Kathy'
Kathleen A. “Kathy” Hosch, 57, of Minnetonka, Minn., formerly of Cascade, died at 10:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at her mother's home, 24339 75th Ave., Cascade, from complications of kidney cancer. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the church. A private burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Cascade, at a later date. Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade is in charge of arrangements.
Kathleen Ann was born June 13, 1952, at Xavier Hospital in Dubuque, the first child born to Edwin and Millie (Trumm) Hosch. She attended the former St. Mary's grade school and graduated from the former Aquin High School in 1970, both in Cascade. She received an associate degree in nursing from Rochester State Junior College in Rochester, Minn., in 1972. She was a nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids and at Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis. In 1984, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Minnesota and worked at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She continued her education and earned a Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology from St. Mary's University in Minneapolis in 1987. She was a psychologist at Eagan Counseling Clinic in Eagan, Minn.
Kathy is survived by her mother, Millie Hosch of Cascade; six siblings, Ralph (Julie) Hosch of Cascade, Amy (Charles) Noonan of Bernard, Lori (Adrian) Knuth of Anamosa, Peter Hosch of Cascade, and Carolyn (Jim) Sigmon and Sue Ellen Hosch, both of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin G. Hosch, on March 15, 2009.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Kidney Cancer Association.
