Hootman, Cheryle R.
Cheryle R. Hootman, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died early Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Celebration of Life: 10 a.m. Friday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, where friends may call after 9 a.m.
Cheryle is survived by her children, Michael (Christy Starr) Hootman, Cedar Rapids, Jodi (Craig) Ivester, Van Horne, and Tamera (Bryan) Ballard, Ely; grandchildren, Taylor, Lyndsey, Anthony, Dennika, Dakota, Zackery, Samantha, Andrew, Augustine, Jackson and Raylan; great-grandchildren, Kael, Ashlyn and Kelton; sisters and brothers, Shirley Lauterbach, Missouri, Evelyn (Lawrence Miller) Weaver and Lois (Jack) Frisk, both of Cedar Rapids, Louise (Lecil) Pierce, Mississippi, Carol (William) Rawson and George W. Jr. (Jan) Fields, both of Cedar Rapids, Penelope (Don) Zeller, Atkins, Pauline Hanson, Cedar Rapids, and Mike (Patricia) Fields, Hiawatha; sister-in-law, Janice Fields, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Sr. and Ruth (Kimbrough) Fields; brother, Douglas Fields Sr.; and sister, Bonnie Miller.
Cheryle was born Nov. 18, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, and lived most of her life in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding area. She was a very good cook and loved to paint, especially nature scenes.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
