Holub, Marie Catherine
Marie Catherine Holub, 99, of Prairieburg, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Prairieburg by Father David O'Connor. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City where a Scripture will begin at 3:30 p.m. Burial: St. Joseph's Cemetery, Prairieburg.
Survivors include her son, Keith (Cathy) Holub of Prairieburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Laverne and an infant son; and four brothers, George, Vincent, Clarence and Lawrence.
Marie was born May 12, 1914, the daughter of Henry and Mary Stulken in Langworthy. She married Lester Holub on Jan. 8, 1941, at Sacred Heart Church in Monticello. He died July 1, 1982.
Marie was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the St. Joseph's Altar & Rosary Society where she was involved in decorating of the Altar.
She loved baking, embroidery, flower gardens, being with family and friends and the CUBS.
