Holst, Richard
Richard L. Holst, 62, of 1420 40th St. Pl. in Marion, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center of cancer. Services at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where there also will be military rites. Friends may call at the Chapel after noon on Monday. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two brothers, Kenneth (Dee) of Center Point, Roger (Lois) of Masonville and a sister, Janet (William) Andrews of Independence. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Richard was born on July 26, 1947, in Independence, the son of Floyd and June Larson Holst. He married Bridget A. Bennett on July 24, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. She died in 2004. He worked at Ralston Foods for 35 years, retiring in 2009. Richard proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
