Holliday, Mary M.
Mary M. Holliday, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Inurnment will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mary is survived by her husband of 38 years, David Holliday; son, Chad Holliday; a daughter, Sarah (Michael) Clark; one grandson, Jayden Clark; her mother, Jean Claflin; a brother, Dan (Donna) Claflin; all of Cedar Rapids; and many loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Claflin; and a sister, Wendy Claflin.
Mary M. Holliday was born on April 29, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Bruce and Jean Bennett Claflin. Mary graduated from Kennedy High School with the class of 1969 and then attended Pairs Beauty Academy and graduated in 1970. She married David R. Holliday on May 4, 1974, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mary worked for Rockwell Collins until she retired in 2008 after 36 years. She and David enjoyed the band Do's and Don'ts. Above all, her greatest enjoyment was that of being a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial donations in Mary's honor may be directed to St. Luke's Hospice.
