Hoffman, Doris E.
Doris E. Hoffman, 94, a resident of Crestview Acres in Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died May 9, 2013. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Cedar Memorial's Certified Celebrant Julie Freese will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are her children, Lee Hoffman and wife Patti of Greenwood, Wis., Shirley Dodds of Lincoln, Neb., Buddy Hoffman of Cedar Rapids and Carol Farar and husband Larry of Cedar Rapids; her brother, Aaron Ford and wife Joyce of Palo; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; her son, Michael; brother, Orin Ford; and sisters, Marilyn Gilbert and Naomi Ford.
Doris was born to Wayne and Madge (Taylor) Ford on Jan. 10, 1919, in Linn Junction. She was united in marriage to Earl E. Hoffman on Feb. 2, 1938, in Cedar Rapids. She and Earl were married for 71 years. Earl preceded her in death in 2009.
Doris was employed for over 18 years in food service at St. Luke's Hospital. She enjoyed shopping and most of all loved throwing birthday parties for her family.
She will be greatly missed.
Memorial donations in Doris' honor may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
