Hoffman, Darlene A. Platz
Darlene A. Platz Hoffman, 65, of Dyersville, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, with her family at her side after a sudden illness. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish Scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery.
Darlene was born Oct. 8, 1946, in Dyersville, the daughter of Gilbert and Valeria (Greiner) Platz. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by four brothers, Robert (Rosie), Dan (June) and Charlie (friend Carol Langel), all of Dyersville, and Dale (Sue) of Omaha, Neb.; four sisters, Carol (Chuck) Wessels of Dubuque, Sandy (Dwight) Schoening of Glenwood, Jane (Bill) Sullivan of Oakdale, Minn., and Sue (Brad) Helle of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces, nephews, aunts; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Darlene Platz Hoffman memorial fund has been established and memorials are preferred.
