Hodges Jr., Robert Ellis

Robert Ellis Hodges Jr. passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2010.

He was born on April 23, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He grew up in Mechanicsville, Iowa, where he excelled academically and athletically. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in accounting. He worked as an accountant for more than 40 years, originally with Collins Radio and then Rockwell International.

He was married over 60 years to Helen Hodges, who passed away earlier this year.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His strong work ethic and commitment to achievement was an example for all.

He is survived by two children, James D. Hodges and his wife, Betsy, and Ann M. Hodges and her husband, Robert McPherson. He has three grandchildren, Matthew Hodges, Mark Hodges and Rachel McPherson.

A private memorial service will be held in Dallas for the family and friends. Robert, and his wife, Helen, will both be buried in his hometown in Iowa in the spring.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Maria and Pavel Nicoara for their loving care of both Robert and Helen over the past five years.
