Hoa T. Blood, 68, of Cedar Rapids died Thursday, April 17, 2014, after a brief illness. Per Hoa's request there will be private family memorial services held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Russell Jr. (Stephanie) of Walford and Christofer (Wendy) of Ely; a daughter, Michelle (Rex) Jones of Marion; her mother, Lien Thi Nguyen of Cedar Rapids; three brothers and two sisters. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Breana, Makena, Miranda, Nicholas, Rylee, Caymen, Sierra and Sabyn.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband and two brothers.
Hoa was born April 2, 1946, in Saigon, Vietnam, the daughter of Kien and Lien Thi Nguyen Ong. She married Clare "Russell" Blood on March 17, 1968, in Saigon. Russell passed away in 1993.
Hoa worked in the grocery business for several years, retiring in 1993.
She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, flower arranging, painting in watercolors and gardening.
Her real joy was her beloved family and the time spent with them.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
