Hirschel Katz, 76, a retired chemical engineer, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2017.
He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on June 14, 1940, to Jack and Lillian Katz (Joseph) and was a southern Nevada resident for 16 years. Hirschel retired after 37 years with Penford Products of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Franklin Katz.
He is survived by Sandra, his beloved wife of 54 years; two sons, Edward (Maria) of Hamburg, N.Y., and David (Missy) of Lincolnshire, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Lily, Ben and Emma.
Graveside services were held in King David Memorial Cemetery, Las Vegas.
The family requests memorial donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
King David Memorial Chapel, Las Vegas, handled the arrangements.
