Hines, Thursa L.
Thursa L. Hines, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, by Julie Helmrich. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until noon at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 12:30 p.m. at the chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Eugene Hines; her daughters, Louise (Randy) Helmrich of Masonville and Ginger (Greg) Brown of Cedar Rapids; her son, Fred Hines of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, September (Adam) Gorsh of Palo, Brenda (Kevin) Paul of Ryan, and Jason (Holly) Coutentos and Ryan Coutentos, both of Cedar Rapids; her great-grandchildren, Makayla, Landen, Isabelle, Logan, Ava, Lilly, Gianna and Natalie; and special friend, Mary.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Thursa was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Norway, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Tillie Johnson Cypra. She married Richard Eugene Hines on April 20, 1972, in Cedar Rapids. Thursa worked for Kmart. She loved living at Irving Point and all the residents she met. She enjoyed puzzles and playing cards. Her family was very important to her and enjoyed time spent with them.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and doctors of Mercy Medical Center and the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for the loving care they gave her.
