Hines, Lois B. Fowler
Lois B. Fowler Hines, 91, of Coralville, formerly of Letts, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the Solon Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at Gay & Ciha Funeral
and Cremation Service in Iowa City, where there will be visitation one hour before the services. Burial will follow at the Letts Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made in Lois's memory to the Columbus City Methodist Church.

Lois Bernadine Fowler was born Aug. 31, 1922, in rural Muscatine County, Iowa, the daughter of Warren and Eva (Lawerence) Fowler. She graduated salutatorian in the class of 1940 from the Letts High School. She married Carl LeRoy “Mickey” Hines on Aug. 3, 1940. The couple lived in Letts for many years, with Lois moving to Coralville to be nearer to family after Mickey's death in 1994.
She was a longtime member of the Columbus City Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the OES, and up until her death, was a member of the Coralville United Methodist Church.
Her family includes her daughter, Carla Lyon (Larry Rowson) of Coralville; son, Crave Hines of Iowa City; son-in-law, Larry Chapman of Chicago; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Claudia Chapman; son-in-law, Tom Lyon; three sisters and an infant brother.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Lois's family and her services.
