Hines, David D.
David D. Hines, 56, of Vinton, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, in his home. Services: 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. John Caughron.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; his parents, Carrol and Dorothy Hines of Toddville; his siblings, Roger Hines of Vinton, Terry Hines and Randy Hines, both of Toddville, and Diana (Ron) Nelson of Waterloo; and nieces and nephews, Daniel and Benjamin Hines, Michael Dufoe, Joseph, Skylar and Elizabeth Bean, Nicole and Jessica Price and Brendan McCormick.
David was born May 29, 1955, the son of Carrol and Dorothy (Carnicle) Hines, in Oelwein, Iowa. A 1974 graduate of Center Point High School, he worked at Jim Arenson Chevrolet, Cedar Rapids Tank Wash and Frontier Natural Products, retiring at age 50 due to his health. On July 7, 1984, David married Judy Dripps at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Walker.
Since his youth, David loved fishing, camping and hunting. He was a member of the Hawkeye Hooksetters of Cedar Rapids. David also enjoyed gardening, watching Hawkeye sports and loved his dogs.
