Hiltrude “Trudy” Elaine Cram, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marion, with interment to follow at Oak Shade Cemetery.
Trudy was born on January 28, 1943, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Olga (Kroemer) Hintze. She graduated from Lowden High School in 1961 and went on to attend Iowa State University. In the fall of 1983, she was united in marriage to Charles Dean Cram in Hiawatha, Iowa. Trudy worked as a secretary for Howard R. Green and was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and tending to her beautiful flower garden. She had a deep appreciation for music, especially hymns that reflected her faith. Trudy met regularly with a Stephen Minister and was a proud friend of Bill W. for over 50 years. Trudy deeply cherished a special bond with her sister Christine, spending time with family, and conversing with her good friend, Joyce.
Trudy is survived and lovingly remembered by her sister, Christine (Jim) Kreutner; children, Jill (Ray) Goodall, Laura (Brian) Abney, and Michael (Laura) Cram; grandchildren, Matthew Egesdal, Ryan (Sabrina) Egesdal, Alvadore (Lea) Cram, and Jonathan (Seth) Cram; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Kalder; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Charles “Chuck” Cram.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Luke’s Hospice.
