Herrmann, David E.
David E. Herrmann, 66, a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at his home following a long illness. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A private graveside service will be held.
Survivors include his wife, Donna of Cedar Rapids; two sons, David of Lawton, Okla., and Andrew (Ann Marie) of Cedar Rapids; his Aunt Tikey of Cedar Rapids; special friend, Gary Heaverlo of Cedar Rapids; and his best friend, “CJ.”
He was preceded in death by his parents.
David was born Sept. 5, 1945, the son of Eldon and Jean (Anderson) Herrmann in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964. On Aug. 21, 1965, David married Donna M. Dorcas in Lisbon. David worked for Sara Lee for 30 years. Over the years his driveway was the neighborhood kids' gathering spot.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in David's memory.
