Herren, Martha S.
Martha S. Herren, 82, of Lisbon, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center. Services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Milton; a son, Ben (Patricia) of Kihei, Hawaii; a daughter, Patrice Herren of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Bill (Marlys) Farmer of Marion.
She is also survived by six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Tumilty; three sisters; and one brother.
Martha was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Linn County, the daughter of McKinley and Arva Smith Farmer. She married Milton L. Herren on June 26, 1955, in Marion. Martha with her husband, Milton owned and operated Briner's Grocery in Springville for several years.
Martha enjoyed cooking, baking, bird watching and especially the time spent with her beloved family. Martha's memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established.
