HERMAN "MUNDY" ENABNIT

Herman "Mundy" Enabnit, 89, of Central City, Iowa, passed away in his home with his family by his side on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Mundy was born Sept. 20, 1929, in Ryan, Iowa, the son of Herman and Marie (Brechbuhl) Enabnit. On Nov. 9, 1955, he was united in marriage to Joan Mentzer. Mundy worked for the Linn County Roads Department as an operator for many years. Mundy was a volunteer on the Central City Third Fire District for 18 years. Mundy was happiest when he was pulling his grandkids with his Allis-Chalmers tractor in parades.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Enabnit of Central City; his children, Tusdy (Kathy) Enabnit of Central City, Karen (Steve) Freilinger of North Buena Vista and Jill (Kyle) Weber of Central City; grandchildren, Ryan, Chad, Rachael, Nicole, Jaxson and Chandler; great-grandchild, Alex; and siblings, Ida Pratt and Gene (Lora) Enabnit.
Mundy was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Robert Enabnit; and sisters, Ilene Whitney, Nellie Ash, Helen Whitney, June Arensdorf, Margaret Scott, Bertha Wenger and Betty Ann Jordan.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Above and Beyond Hospice for the excellent care they have provided the last several months to Mundy.
